As others have said - go hardwire.

Here’s a picture to give you a good sense of why I’m personally adamant about it (now).

Me too, lucky I did not have a fire. I had a wire that was loose going to the plug in the wall and completely melted. Apparently the electrician did not torque the screw properly, or it vibrated loose.

When hardwired on a 60A circuit, the Rivian Wall EVSE will support 11.5kW charging, which is ~24 miles of range gained, per hour.

That is exactly what I'm getting.

Thank you all for your input on the home charging issues. Today we had our electricians here to discuss our EV charging needs. We got their opinions on installation and position.

We have decided to install our Rivian wall charger which will be hard wired and mounted on the inside divider wall between two of our garage doors. It will be installed on a 60 amp breaker. We will also install a 50 amp 14-50 Hubbell outlet on the same wall below the wall charger.

When done, we will submit photo to this thread.
