If a charger with "Lodging" is marked "Restricted" on PlugShare, read the comments. In my experience, "Restricted" at hotels usually means an inexperienced PlugShare users marked a hotel charger "Restricted" when it meets the definition for "Guests Only."
How it's SUPPOSED to work is that if you have to rent a hotel room for the night in order to charge, that's "guests only." If you have to rent an apartment for a month or more in order to charge, that's "restricted."
Some hotel brokerage sites, such as aaa.com, will let you filter on "EV charging stations," but for me those sites appear to be much less accurate and far less valuable than PlugShare. Every database has some advantages in some situations, though, so I sometimes use both strategies.
I would imagine all of them will follow a similar process soon.
Expedia has a built in filter for electric car charging stations too.
I like to start with my favorite hotel chains to see what options they have and then expand my options by checking PlugShare too.
I would make sure you have a Tesla to J-1772 adapter in case the chargers on site are Tesla destination chargers or the J-1772 chargers are unavailable.
