How to detach the console bluetooth speaker?

I'm having difficulties getting my console speaker to unlock. This is the first time i've tried to remove it. I followed these directions...
Undocking the Speaker
"The speaker unlocks once the vehicle is in Park, or when the vehicle unlocks. Pull the speaker straight out by the
handle to remove it from its dock. You can also unlock or lock the speaker from its dock on the Speaker Settings
screen of the center display".
My truck is unlocked and in park, I'm pulling pretty hard straight forward but it's stuck. The Instructions also say it can also be unlocked from the "speaker settings screen". I don't know where that is. Can someone please give me some insight?

Settings > Connect > Speaker.
There's a toggle in there to unlock it (pardon the dust and fingerprints)

thanks, I found that screen on my R1T. I took a couple photos, one supposedly unlocked and the other locked. It still won't come out of that hole regardless. I'm pulling with both hands also. It's stuck. Maybe time to inform CS or my guide?

ps: what seems kind of weird to me is the "button" says unlocked even if it's to the right or left. I would think if the color is yellow, it should say locked? or is there something i'm not seeing?

Hi there,

I had the same issue when I had my truck on day 1, no matter what I did the speaker won't detach.

SC diagnosed it that the speaker latch was broken. When I was there, it looked like this is not uncommon. They had to removed the entire center console and replace that latch. It works now.

I tried removing mine yesterday and it won’t let me pull out either. I have a service ticket for it. Quite a few threads on Reddit with the same problem.

@Jyeh74: This thread is more than a year old. Things have changed. Rivian will be supporting other things in the dock space in the center console besides the speaker, so three or four months ago they changed the UI and the manual. You can always find the current way to do things in the manual. While year-old threads are always going to be outdated, especially with how often Rivian adds features to the vehicle.

I would reboot the infotainment system. I just removed my speaker and put in a drawer to replace the missing glove compartment. The speaker works well in the shop in my barn bluetoothed to Sirius on my phone.

So doors unlocked, vehicle on and in Park, and it won't unlock. Doesn't sound good.

BTW, I put tape on my drawer contacts so it wouldn't lock. I would have liked a locking drawer but it was way too cumbersome.
