lol. Oh I do. My wallet only has my license, a cc and the card key in it. When I’m in my town tho, I usually leave my wallet at home.

Same. iPhone 17 Pro has issues. But when I'm with my wife's 14 Pro Max the car find its fine.

It isn't the phone, it's the latest vehicle update. I haven't had a single phone as a key problem for a year until the most recent update and now I have it consistently since the vehicle update. I'm not running an iphone so I don't have to wonder if the iOS 26 update caused this issue -- it didn't.

All the same issues with my iPhone 12 Pro and 2025.34.30
Always worked before, now it is hit or miss to auto unlock and the range/proximity is much lower.
Rivian take note! You broke remote lock/unlock in this new OTA release.

Has anyone else gotten the new iPhone 17 Pro model notice that proximity unlock is way worse now? Locking seems normal, but unlocking with PAAK sometime just doesn’t work at all without opening the app.

Hopefully when car key is enabled and actually using ultra wide-band this will be improved?

I have tried restarting phone, app, hard and soft resets of the vehicle.

Yes, same. I have to hold my phone to door and then it usually works, but a few times I had to open app.

I had 2026 R1S delivery a few days ago and then update was pushed to it a day later. I use 13 pro max and unlock has been totally unpredictable. Sometimes works fine with phone in pocket but other times it refuses to wake up even if I push phone on door handle. Open app for it to unlock has become daily routine. I was wondering if this is what Rivian drivers have been enduring but never thought it might have been caused by update because I have no previous experience. It might not be a 17 pro issue.

Ah so it’s more widespread than I thought. I posted on Reddit and had quite a few people say the same thing, definitely something broke in the new update.

2025 R1S Gen-2

What finally fixed it for me was deleting the Rivian app and re-installing it. I also rebooted my iPhone 17 after the App deletion and after the app re-install.

Still too early to say for sure but i have seen improvement since i installed WAAK and i am using my watch as a key as well.

i also added the Rivian Widget to my lock screen and it is at least a quicker way to open the app even when the phone is locked.

yes, I'm having the same issues as well. I also noticed my key isn't recognized for up to a minute after getting in the vehicle.

2025 R1S Gen-2

I have the 17 pro max and gen1 R1T.. it's absolutely awful! I have to stand next to the truck for 10 seconds with the phone unlocked before it'll recognize it. They need to fix this.

I'm having issues with proximity unlocking/waking up with the key fob and G1 R1S.

I had a mobile appointment on Monday. When I made the appointment, I explained I already replaced the battery in the key fob and tried a reset and neither improved the situation. The mobile tech, after I explained again what was happening and the solutions I tried, said he could replace the battery in the key fob or recalibrate my seats. When I declined, he said there's a sensor in the car that controls the proximity unlocking and it may need to be replaced.

So now I have an appointment with the VN SC next Friday for a potential proximity unlocking sensor replacement.
