Saw this today:

My god the corners at the rear of that thing look dangerous. Owners should pack a full size first aid kit in that little trunk area.

And as many tourniquets as they can fit... maybe a few pints of blood in a cooler for transfusion too.

does seem to be a bit smaller than other photos/videos i recall seeing. once cool thing is it appears to have two storage areas in the bed.

but what stood out to me are those corners on the frunk? and i thought the gear tunnel door has some sharp point.... some kid is definetely going to the hospital from the CT frunk.

Is the front going to stand up to road debris?

Yep ... getting to ANYTHING in the bed that is outside of arms reach will require climbing in as side access is not really available due to the sloping/high bed sides. I predict that blood will be spilled by all that attempt with out proper protection!

The truck has next to no day to day useful storage besides the cab. Think bunches of small items or boxes or groceries. You really can't use the bed unless you want to climb into it when it slides all the way to the front. You can't get to the front of the bed from the sides. The frunk is super tiny. Might be able to use that under bed storage but that's likely to end up dirty over time.

So much of this truck is form over function. Literally the only two things I can come up with that it does better than a Rivian is haul big things due to a bigger bed (which causes problems on the more common day to day stuff), and their auto pilot is better than highway assist. Other than that, pretty much every other box is checked for Rivian in a comparison.

Backing up is going to present real visibility challenge!
All jokes aside, look at the photo above and imagine yourself in the driver seat trying to back up with the tailgate up... extremely dangerous as the "sail" on the passenger side creates a huge blind spot.

Even worse if you could imagine with the tonneau deployed.. rear view completely blocked so you are forced to rely on mirrors and cameras.

This behemoth is looking worse (both aesthetically and functionally) day-by-day. And yet, it will likely outsell the R1T in its first year.

I'd imagine the rear view is going to be a camera.

It has to be, but less than ideal for backing up.

My 2017 Bolt had the electronic rear view mirror and I installed one on our i3 as well.. I much prefer it over a standard optical rear view mirror. But for backing up, nothing is better then turning your head around and looking where you're going.

If the 8 foot long wiper deflects the debris it will launch it 100 yards like a medieval catapult.

I haven't looked behind me to back up in years. Between backup cameras and mirrors there really is no point. Then again in spent years driving vehicles with no rear window viability. It really isn't that big of a deal when you get used to it.
