Jingle Sound Scare

I left on a trip shortly before the latest update, so the fun winter holiday stuff was all waiting for me when I got home on the 30th. Naturally, I wanted to try out the new lock sound...

Is it just me, or does the "festive" jingle door lock sound like it belongs on the set of a horror movie? Every time I hear it I picture sharp knives and shower curtains.

I managed to tolerate it for a couple days, which was a couple days longer than I should have. If I had to use one word to describe it, that word would be creepy. It's not scary, per se, but it is downright creepy. Finally today I was done with it and it was back to the owl - which is sooooo much nicer.

Am I the only one? I don't think I've seen any other posts about it, so maybe others like it - but it's not for me!

On the plus side, I don't feel like I missed out on a fun limited-time seasonal sound effect that arrived while I was out of town.

On a slightly related note, this last weekend I was hanging out with my friends who have G1 R1Ts and they noticed the jingle is different been generations. For some reason the jingle sound is twice as long on G2? 4 jingles on gen 1, 8 on gen 2.. odd difference but good catch on their part haha

"Psycho" was the FIRST thing that came to mind when I heard the new lock sound. Glad I'm not alone in this. ?

The bells only scare me when I hear them as I continue to walk away... but maybe its just me jiggling as I walk.

I agree here. I turned it off after hearing it the first time. Not sure how Rivian thought that sounded like jingle bells. Maybe they should save it for next Halloween.

I was downtown one day and when walking from one store to another the car unlocked and locked again as I passed my R1S. An older lady was window shopping when it went off and I watched her look around to try and figure out where the bells came from lol.

I was excited for the new sounds, until I heard the jingle bells for the first time. After that, I changed to the owl.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one! I agree with @Volfan615, this one may be a good candidate for next Halloween - though I don't see myself using it even then. Of course, we now have multiple good options with the owl and mountain bluebird. I personally liked the crow last year, too. It's so nice to have options!

I haven't tried it since Christmas music is just annoying garbage, but this sounds promising now. When will they remove it?

Sounds like a jingle to me... short... but not creepy... weird.
