Hi - how do I keep my R1 T in snow mode all the time? Every morning it reverts back to all purpose mode. I live in a snowy place and want it in 4wd all winter, with no exceptions. Thanks!

You don't. The vehicle will revert back to default every time it's turned off, if you want a alternate mode you have to select it.

Don't have an answer for keeping it in snow mode, but here's another perspective on why that was such a great OTA upgrade for us. My wife has peripheral neuropathy, severe in her feet. This makes it difficult for her to drive smoothly with standard regenerative braking. Snow mode with low regenerative braking is what she will use, winter or summer. Mostly I drive all purpose with standard regen.

I submitted this feedback last month. I get why they do it for an off road mode but Snow mode is not “off road”.

Snow mode and low Regen will not put as much energy back into the battery but it sounds like your willing to sacrifice the range for better drivability in snowy conditions.

Since snow mode drops Regen and makes the go pedal less responsive I suspect that is why they are resetting it on each drive.

The answer is simple…you can’t. Rivians automatically revert from “off road modes” the next day.
It shouldn’t be too taxing for you to simply turn on snow mode each day when you start your day…it will stay on for the entire day.
In the meantime, you can suggest and hope for an OTA that keeps the mode from auto-shifting back

FYI you can turn regen to low while in All Purpose via the vehicle info screen…

Your Rivian is all wheel drive, all the time. You don’t have to put it in Snow mode for AWD. Snow mode is tuned for driving in very low traction situations like on actual snow and ice.

When did they add that?

As others have said, your car is AWD already….why would you need snow mode on all the time?

There is a very significant difference in traction between all purpose and snow mode. It seems clear that all purpose is 2nd, but sounds like I’m wrong. Either way, last winter my truck would stay in snow mode every day of I set that as my preference as it is much safer for driving and the low brake regen is my strong preference. Rivian seems like they made a change in the last few months taking away the ability to set a preference that stays…why in the world would they take away something like that??? Please add it back for safety.

My beef with this reversion to defaults after the day change is that it's not just going to AP mode, it goes to AP mode with regen set to standard and height set to auto. I *NEVER* want height in auto or standard regen. If they're going to revert to AP mode if I park in Snow mode then it should at least use my version of AP and not their defaults.

This is not standard behavior in my experience. Mine does not do this. I would recommend a software reset.
