I've done it a handful of times (mounted over the bed of the truck, not the roof). No issues that I'm aware of, but I don't wash often - only a few times per year.

Thanks. It’s not going anywhere locked on the roof mounts I think. This may be more of a carwash facility question.

I've been going through the carwash with my rooftop tent still on behind the cab. I only do touchless washes though.

The Rivian crossbars can handle 250 lb of dynamic load, or 600 lbs static—taken directly from the Gear Shop page. If your car wash's rotating brushes and water jets generate more force than these, you've got bigger problems to worry about.

Personally, I would use touchless washes only.

I do it ALL THE TIME, and mine have four (4) frame-mount bike racks on them as well…..never once had an issue.

Yes, I have done it many times. I do recommend doing a TOUCHLESS Car Wash though, to avoid scratching the truck.

depends on the car wash, some washes do not even allow you to go through with something attached.

I have a monthly pass and go through an automated car wash approx 1x per week, with the crossbars on the back of my R1T with no problems. I can't speak for having them on top....

I get mine washed probably every 10 days. No issues with cross bars.

I have always taken them off before the car wash. They are so easy to take off and out on that only takes a minute or two.
