I agree 200% from an engineering viewpoint. From a layman viewpoint these days, the term "inverter" has become genericized to mean any voltage converter, sort of like "Kleenex" vs "tissue" . Not saying it's correct, but it is what it is....FYI, that's a converter/charger, not an inverter. Inverters are DC to AC.
