We have some damage on the tailgate of our 2025 R1S from backing into a partially open garage door (don't ask how
).
There's a dent and some scratches, all limited to the piano-black plastic trim at the top of the tailgate. See pictures.
Curious how we should go about repairing this? Is our best bet to just create a ticket with Rivian Service and have them come back with an estimate and an appointment (likely months out)?
Or are there any body shops/chains we should approach directly?
Is going through insurance even worth it for this repair?
Any guesses what this will cost to repair?
Would much appreciate any suggestions or experiences folks can share!
PS: I tried, it isn't buffing right out
