I don’t see the above option in the iPhone app for some reason. I think it senses my Rivian app even if I have my iphone locked

What’s the purpose of unrestricted?
It's in your power settings. Not the Rivian app. It means you're telling your phone to not "put the app to sleep". Keep the app open in the background. If you don't do that PaaK won't work correctly. Or you'll need to manually open the app each time. Am sure some iPhone user will come along and advise what the correct terminology is for your device. ?

Same. This works best for me, as well. Whether I leave the truck in the driveway or in the garage. Get out, walk inside, the truck locks. And none of that annoying "unlock every time I walk by it in the garage" stuff. When I'm ready to leave and actually go somewhere, I unlock with phone or fob.

Edit: And anywhere that's not home (e.g., walking towards the truck with an armload of groceries) it's unlocked by the time I get to it.
I've also found the faster I walk to the truck, the more delayed the unlock.

The BMW i3 works exactly the same way.. touch the inside of the door handle the vehicle unlocks, touch the IIII lines on the outside of the door handle the vehicle locks. It's so simple/natural it's stupid easy to use! I prefer that over the Model 3 door handles and much more than the Rivian self-presenting door handles.
Ditto for Honda… 2017-2024 Ridgeline and CRVs at least…
