They have said early 2023. Whatever that means for Rivian. Good news is we are still in 2023

Last update I received from my guide was "mid 2023"

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
I wish I had opted for the Manual, at the very least so I could give money to EVSportline to have a functioning cover.

I cannot fathom a reason for the delay on the OEM cover, unless they are holding off announcing it until they have a fix for the Automatic one, or if there’s some sort of part sharing going on (which would seem excessive in it’s attempt to simplify components in the field).

The answer is "NO". Nobody knows. Rivian has been terrible with communication about this as is becoming habit. I ordered the EV Sportline cover that should start shipping in April and asked Rivian (through my Guide) for a refund for the amount I had already paid for the manual cover I had selected. It really should not be difficult for Rivian to either come up with the manual covers or at least communicate status updates (regardless of trying to rework the failed automated cover. I love my R1t and my (current) Guide is great....but Rivian is failing big time at customer communications...

Agree, but the EV Sportline cover doesn't work for me - I'm waiting for a hard surface version that fits into the bed slats - for goodness sake, I've seen some amazing designs on this forum that look OEM so no idea why Rivian can't come up with their own.

Our guide has been very honest with us. He told us they've been told end of March/April for a reveal of the tonneau, shipping this spring. BUT he also said no one has seen it and don't hold our breath. The guides seem just as frustrated as the customers. I'm hoping Rivian gives us an update in the next few weeks.

If anyone has a preorder and willing to sell for a reasonable price, I'd gladly purchase it off you. I can even preprint a FedEx or UPS label and you can slap in onto the box it came in (if Rivian decides to mail them vs pickup that is)

They've been saying "early 2023" or "before the end of March" for about 6 months now without any followup or communications.....

Was also informed that the guides were told end of March for an announcement, dont know if that would be internal to employees or order holders - either way hoping to hear soon.

More frustrating than the wait is the fact that it will just be four panels that you pull out and store in the gear tunnel. Instead, they could have used the already existing wasted space that housed the powered version for a manually retracting one. My hope is for a 3rd party option eventually that will likely end up being superior.
