I am compelled to point out the closest service centre to Sioux Falls is in a suburb of Minneapolis, that’s like 3.5 hours driving. A leisurely jaunt by prairie standards ??

Suspect the Minneapolis service centre has lots of capacity to make deliveries to more faraway places compared to facilities in more densely populated areas.
I actually think he picked it up in KC IIRC. But the point remains. ?

Actually I think 3.5 hours is "ok" - they have delivered multiple trucks to Bend out of Portland and that's roughly 3.5 hours.

you can make that round trip in a day if you need too without too much stress.

i had my test drive today and I mentioned adventure trim deliveries to the Rivian employee. He said basically it mostly comes down to how ready areas are to service the vehicles - and that we're lucky in Oregon / Washington and that they weren't going to deliver a truck to someone in BFE who is nowhere near a center.
Not surprised at all by this. Going to suck for some LE holders, but they need to pump out trucks and deliver them as fast as they can.

I was originally in the May/June group. Just noticed I got my first guide contact on the 7th. Am I likely delayed or no? I'm in Chicago. Ordered Feb 2021. EDIT: 2020, sorry. Not 2021. Brainfart. It's an LE. Last config change appears to be late May 2021.

Most of us May-June people have not even been assigned a guide yet. So, no, I don’t think you are delayed.

So you ordered 6+ months after most of the folks in this group, but got the email in nov/dec that said you had a may/june delivery for what one has to assume is an adventure trim R1T - and now your'e saying you got a guide assigned at the end of last week.

I officially have no idea what they hell they are doing in Normal.

ETA: Standard disclaimer not accusing you of doing anything wrong and am happy for anyone who gets a truck, I just am confused. And, honestly, if I see someone cut in line in my day-to-day life, I lose my freakin' mind. So this is just feeding into all that - but you're not cutting, you're being called to the front which is 100% not anything you asked for.

It’s incredibly frustrating.

6 months before??? Add another year. Then another 6 months. Now you’re getting close…

I’m convinced that geographic areas and distance to a service center are a big factor in delivery windows.

I'm sorry Rivian, but your delivery schedule process is fucking bullshit.

I'm 15 freaking miles from the service center that has probably delivered the second most. It's got nothing to do with that in some cases.

I ordered August 2020 and have May / June - so that's where 6 months came from.

I mean yours is def something with FE. The BM offers are definitely from cancelled orders or something.

Oh crap. Feb 2020, not 2021. It's an LE. Ironically, I could actually use a delay. All my savings are in GME, it has likely 100% more shares than are supposed to exist and stock split hits in June/July at the earliest.
