Grabbed some lunch earlier today and just had to park next this tiny little Smart Car EV (technically Smart EQ Fortwo, I believe).

There's a local guy that tows a utility trailer with a Smart Four Two - see him in my neighborhood every couple weeks. I am quite sure he is insane.

And yesterday, I saw an Amazon delivery guy doing runs in his Smart. I'm pretty sure he didn't understand the job description.

I wonder how often the EPA updates their cost estimates. At current US average kWh/gas prices the Rivian is $2.12/25 miles and the Smart is $2.15/25 miles. Saving $55k+ buys a lot of gas if all you need to do is get back and forth somewhere like most drivers.

took some peeping, but yes! (Also that's the Arizona EV plate)

My brother has two of them. One was totally dead and he's reviving the battery right now by brute force, outside the car. It's working. They are very neat cars, and like a Tardis, bigger on the inside than you can possibly imagine.

The model in the image is a 451 generation, probably about 2010 or 11. My brother has both that and a 453 (new generation). The 453 is vastly improved. The range is very low; and yet, it works for most people.

It won't fit in the frunk, but it definitely does fit in the bed of an F-series truck once you get it over the wheel wells. It's so light that it doesn't overload an F150.

It is, however, STILL interesting that the LE R1T is more efficient than the gasoline Smart FourTwo from 2015.
