Mobile app thinks windows are down?

Has anyone had a similar experience? The windows button in my app is always black like the windows are down even though they are all closed. If I press it, it says “closing,” but then shows an error message. If I roll down the windows using the physical switches, I’m able to close them in the app, but then it goes back to the way it was and won’t let me open the windows remotely.
I have done a soft reset, which did not help. Any suggestions?

I had this issue, you can reset the window calibration.

Push down the button halfway, and when it stops, hold it there for 5 seconds. Then pull up half way, and leave it there for 5 seconds as well.

If you search “window reset” on here there is some threads with more detailed instructions/troubleshooting.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I tried both window calibration procedures and, while that did result in the express open/close working correctly, the app issue was not resolved. I don't want to go messing with the RiDE menu, at least not for this minor inconvenience.

Rivian did reach out to me and switched me from an in-person SC appointment many months out to a mobile service visit in about two weeks. Hopefully that will take care of it.

I had this issue early on, probably a year ago. Tried recalibration, etc. and ultimately had to have the SC address it.

I had it show up once and didn't resolve itself so I did the following:

First quit out of the Rivian app on the phone.

Next, did a reboot (hazard and left steering wheel toggle) the vehicle
(side note: I aways reboot the vehicle after any firmware update. I usually reboot it about 30~60 mins after the install completion)

Relaunch the Rivian app.

Fixed and never have had the problem since.

Have you tried to sign out and delete your app, then download it from the App Store again and sign back in? It could just be an app issue …?

I have this exact same issue for my rear left window. App always shows it as open even though it's physically closed, and I get the error message every time I press the close windows button (it does actually work though in closing all windows, just throws out an error after and shows that one window as still open).

Rivian service suggested many of the things others have said: window calibration, app reinstall, rebooting the vehicle. None of the steps worked for me. They are coming in for a mobile visit to do my 7.5k mile service and are going to address it then, will keep you posted OP.

Have you tried to sign out and delete your app, then download it from the App Store again and sign back in? It could just be an app issue …?
Did the sign-out-reboot-Rivian-sign-in, but haven’t actually deleted the app. I’m reluctant to do that because just from signing out, I lost the Lock Screen live activity charging notification for a few days and had to re-add my phone as a key. At this point, I’d rather wait for mobile service.

Update for anyone interested: mobile service came out, did the RiDE menu window calibration, problem fixed. This issue seems to be tied to the express up/down not working properly and that now seems fine too.

Now my iOS app only shows the tonneau cover as open--because I don't have one yet.

Had the same issue on rear right window and the RIDE calibration setting is the only thing that worked. Incredible! Have been living with the mobile app showing the window open for months. Thanks Electrified Outdoors for the great video walkthrough and suggestion!
