MORR rescues a high-centered R1T

Just wanted to note the point of this thread was just to share an instance of an R1T in a video, purely for entertainment purposes. I'm not calling out the driver for any mistakes, nor do I think MORR was attempting to make Rivian look bad. It's a pretty benign appearance imho and I just enjoyed seeing a yellow R1T show up in a MORR video.

So for those of us who are not experienced in off road, but want to be... Would this guy have been better approaching this from an angle vs straight on? Seems to me he may have made it over the hump had he done that instead of trying to just go straight over. Just asking so that when i end up in a similar spot, I'll know better!!!

And no, that's not me, but i do wish the compass yellow was still available!

From what I saw in the video, that probably would have succeeded but it's pretty steep on either side of that little ridge so it might have high centered just the same. I think he also could have freed himself by stacking more rocks or logs under the rear tires like he had started to do.

I agree with others it also doesn't appear he had the suspension high enough to do it right. ?‍

Very true! I keep my little SOG shovel/ tool in my gear tunnel. Never had to use it but it's there!

When your Rivian is in a .... situation.

On a serious note, would this cause any serious damage? I saw a tear down where the underbody shield bolts got bent and totalled the truck.

Yeah, when we first see the R1T the wheels look reasonably articulated (makes sense since it's high centered), but as soon as it gets pulled forward onto the wheels, there are shots from both sides that basically show all 4 wheels up against the wheel wells, so it was probably never in high or highest. Or maybe it turtled or he changed modes after getting stuck. Not sure if highest would've avoided the high-centering though.

100% For a moment I thought he had it in AP but with kneel mode, but as he drove away, the truck was still slammed. Maybe this is another instance of an owner neglecting to RTFM
