I'm pretty sure you could do this before the Google search update. Haven't tried it recently. If you search on Google maps on your phone, you can send a pin directly to the truck, which is based off of lat/long coordinates and not just the name of a place.What they should really offer is the ability to put coordinates into the navigation system. My Jeep has that feature and it's incredibly useful. Plus, you get zero errors from street addresses and that sort of thing when the address really isn't quite correct on the mapping software.
I'll often look up a destination on Google Maps and then get pinpoint geo coordinates and use those in my navigation system to get to that exact point on the map. Doing this is really useful in densely populated areas. It's also fantastic for finding a trial head.
