Impressive!

They somehow managed to pull off the impossible and have made the rear even more hideous! Might as well write Frigidaire on it 🤮
They made the quintessential "jellybean car" even more jellybean shaped!

It went from "fastback to "fatback"

The model Y L supossedly has microphones in every seating area. Allows you to take calls from anywhere in the cabin and the voice assistant is directional

Theoretically helps with autonomy too for hearing sirens

Controlling the car with grok (not just navigation) would be very trivial. Tesla voice assistant has already every function in the API, so it would take only a matter of hours for grok to control the same functions.

The reason not to do it is because running an LLM is very expensive and it takes a lot of data to upload audio.

Carplay is coming and it is rumored to sync to the tesla navigation.

The Tesla Y L news is meaningful no matter how grumpy the Rivian fan base is to it. There are a dozen car reviews comparing the MY with the R2. I see them in different segments but others want to stand them up together. The MYL only deepens the competition with added interior passenger and cargo room. The good news is this will only increase the attractiveness of EV's versus ICE vehicles in the mid-size $60k segment.

$62k is criminal. I thought it would be like $54k between LR and P trims. R2 looks like such a deal now. Tesla is crazy for this.
This is the Launch Series. Exterior/interior and wheel choices are all no-charge plus you get the tow package and a year of FSD. They did the same thing with Juniper.

The cheaper models will be here shortly.

They had lifetime FSD in the Juniper Launch Edition, this is only for one year. Terrible deal.

It’s a terrible launch package though if we’re being honest. Doesn’t even have basic lane keeping after FSD expires. So maybe it’ll be $59,990 in 6 months? Still can’t believe that’s the pricing they settled on.

So glad I went for R2 instead. Looks like a STEAL now IMO.

The Tesla hate in this forum is so real lol

Not sold on the looks either, but I have no doubts that it will do well. International reviews have praised it big time and it is currently the best Tesla option for a family. Definitely not a nothingburger.

I can admit not for me but I see the appeal.

Oh, I don’t disagree. I was just saying that a higher priced “Launch Series” is not unprecedented for Tesla.
