The Tesla hate in this forum is so real lol

Not sold on the looks either, but I have no doubts that it will do well. International reviews have praised it big time and it is currently the best Tesla option for a family. Definitely not a nothingburger.

I can admit not for me but I see the appeal.
I have no issues with Tesla. Lots of people here do of course. It’s a great new addition to Tesla’s lineup. Might be the last “new” car they make sadly. I was thinking of getting one until R2 bc I want the cargo space, don’t care about the 3rd row. I’m just shocked by the pricing. It’s $12k more than the premium AWD! $12,000 United States dollars. Crazy

Yeah, not for me. I’ve done a Model Y once, but I don’t want another. They’ll sell a ton and it’ll do well.

Not everyone has to want a Rivian and vice versa. I’m just glad there’s choice in the market.

Tesla has a habit of gouging their early consumers on pricing. From a business perspective it makes sense, but it doesn't feel right as a consumer.

I actually like this a lot.... Not enough to get a Launch Edition thou.

I am too tactile, I need to see it, feel it, drive it, before I can make that decision.

Dont forget the non-refundable $250 deposit thou.

R2 leases are gouging with the equivalent of a 10% interest rate. That's an absurd number for people with Tier 1 credit.

The Tesla Y L news is meaningful no matter how grumpy the Rivian fan base is to it.
Probably a good 2/3 of the Rivian members here are Tesla owners... just saying.

If you look at the poster's "Vehicles" under member info... you'll notice a large majority of the anti-Tesla rhetoric comes from non-Tesla owners.

Valid arguments about price, positioning, capabilities, and even thoughts about how it looks would be welcome. However, as much as I am tempted by the Rivian R2, the quality of the conversations on this forum give me pause.

There are some people that lean towards luxury or passenger capacity cross shopping against the Volvo or BMW that should be including the best selling vehicle in their buying process. There are others who would prefer offroading and don’t care about FSD that shouldn’t.

However, comments that sound like we are in elementary school with bad language doesn’t help elevate Rivian. It would make as much sense as me responding, ”I would never buy a Rivian”. I hope your arguments in the real world have more depth.

I have been saying this for years... The Rivian Apologists/Purist/Loyalist are real around here.

I have no interest in a Tesla. I don't care for their design. Other reasons, too.
