It's still a quad motor setup (see motor temps in corner)
But, the UI has been refreshed, with different guages etc. Yellow is now power in sport mode on wheel graphics as well as instrument cluster

TBH, I don’t love the new interior. I think it was nicer with a lined roof and a-pillars. Looks especially funny around the mirror mounting. Are the roll bars going to be an option or standard?

I just realized if we get in-vehicle footage of his attempt that this will probably lead to confirming if the max speed has been increased.
I've been watching for that in all the videos actually. I know last year they increased the torque vectoring and the upped the soft speed limit. I think it was in the outofspec interview with Gardner where he mentioned some of the soft tuning they had done. So far I haven't seen anything beyond 106mph before a hard corner

Rivian can generate a social media post that shows how removing these items is good for the planet. Less material....less earth impact. Haha!

Latest from pikespeakhillclimb Instagram. Looks like their using the Ascent model with blackout trim?

Also curious about the added red steel tubes under the rear LCA's
Refresh obviously added a forced exhaust system for increased power.

I saw their instrument panel dash on board footage, it's a dual with a lot of new features. They since removed the story ??

Tho It was 1230am and I may have not saw everything correctly ?

Horsepower much higher (well over 1,000).
Massive weight reduction of over 10%.
Increased brake cooling as last year brakes overheated, glowed red, and cracked.
Big problems right now with overheating and going into reduced battery output mode. A lot of engineering/mods needed before race.
Electric van (ala Amazon) has 240V power and full tire change/balancing setup to support
all the tires being used.
Last year's truck was Gardner's own used R1T. This is a brand new Rivian vehicle.
RJ will most likely attend in person.

I've seen several videos of this years runs and you can see the battery is pushing 122F in several during the run which is getting into the upper level of where the battery wants to be. Of note though, is the motors are sitting around the same level which is impressive and a case for oil immersion of the in house units over the jacket cooling of the Bosch.

Last year I remember him commenting he was half a degree away from the vehicle going into reduced power output as he crossed the finish line. It was a bit of a ballet, getting the most out of the vehicle, while also staying within it's limits.

The high sustained climbing load isn't doing the battery any favours that's for sure.

Is that due to the refresh (I thought it was much less) or something with mods to this specific truck?
I don't know, surely not a refresh reduction though, that doesn't sound feasible.
