Checking to see if anyone has experienced a similar issue with their bluetooth connection.

I am using iPhone/iOS, and when I shift to Park the Bluetooth connection becomes spotty. Spotty meaning it is an intermittent or broken connection. This causes the music I am listening to go in and out similar to what you'd experience during a call with a poor cell connection.

I am assuming this has to do something with where the infotainment system is pulling power in drive mode vs Park, causing a burp during the shift.

Wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar.

This is more likely associated with the either the vehicle's or your phone's shift to wifi from LTE when parking.

Power to the infotainment always comes from the same place: the 12v system.

Yep. Same thing happens to me. But it seems more prominent when it’s kneeling than just when it’s shifting into Park.

Super helpful…I’ll need to start recording where it happens to see if the shift to WiFi could be it.

Appreciate the idea!

Yes, the connection is still being changed. The vehicle hotspot relies on the host network used by the truck. When you shift to park, and are in range of a saved wifi network, the truck shifts to wifi for that network.

That make sense. Thank you

This happens to me too. It doesn't just happen when at home (within range of known wifi network) but also happens elsewhere.

Usually this lasts about 10 seconds then the audio quality goes back to normal.

This happens to me too. I found this thread looking to see if anyone had a fix.

I can add that, at least for me, I don't think it has to do with whether my iPhone is using wifi or LTE because it happens even when I am listening to something (a podcast in this case) that resides on the phone and is not being streamed.

My guess is that it does have something to do with power fluctuation in the car when putting into park -- maybe due to the air pump raising or lowering the car.

Yep happens to us too. Both at home and away from home. Quite annoying. I raised it with the service center and they cleared the cache (which was really a full reset?) of the infotainment and it didn’t change.

Happens to me as well. Seems to be worse when I park at home or work and my truck switches to WiFi, but it also does it if I park still only using LTE.

Happening to me too for several weeks now, but was not noticed earlier, so I’m imagining something to do with a new update, since it sounds like it’s multiple vehicles.
I have a Quad R1S built in November ‘23 and using a iPhone 15.

It happens to me. Typically when at home and just either pulling up or backing away - as soon as I Mode a couple feet, it clears up. I've always attributed this to the phone switching between the house Wifi & 5G connection. I don't use the truck Wifi. Since it only happens for a couple of seconds, I haven't really given it much more thought than that as it works when away from the house and driving.

Same issue in an R1S. It is super annoying. Rivian needs to roll out a fix for this.

I have the same issue, when I brought car for service within first month of ownership, I was told nothing is wrong.
Additionally to shifting in park, I get same dropouts when I receive notifications on my phone.
