I think this whole thing is pretty damn cool for those that have swiped up into the Gen 2 Quad.

But, it's funny the entitlement in the comments on IG etc from Gen 1 Quad launch edition owners crying that they should also be receiving something for being the most loyal launch owners etc etc etc. We got a heavily discounted price compared to other vehicles/non early bird preorder holders, and given the massive inflation of the time. I think we got a pretty solid deal given the wait we endured and the end performance of the vehicles delivered.

I’m a gen 1 quad upgrading to gen 2 quad. I got a great deal on gen 1, that trading my gen 1 is coming out the same price I’m getting Gen 2. It’s hard letting this truck go because I haven’t had any problems and it’s been a blast. Really hoping Gen 2 is everything they say it is.

That's very cool. Good for them, they're paying big bucks for it. I seem to remember some of us early G1 buyers getting small presents like a yeti mug, Garry toy or beanie left in the car. Not to mention the 20% discount!

I think it's a nice touch.

Yeah, that model is the only real "extra" over a Gen 1 Launch Edition. Oh boy, valve stem caps and a license plate frame! Unless those are completely unique ones, you can just buy those.

And Launch Edition got the wristband key.

From a G1 ('23) owner, thank you to everyone purchasing G2 vehicles (especially the Quad). A little bit of me is envious of all the cool stuff you are getting and upgrades in the G2 however hard to justify paying what it'll cost to upgrade.

The purchases help Rivian keep moving forward. I'd rather fork out inflated $$$'s to keep my R1S maintained after warranty ends vice not having a company (like Fisker) to help with maintenance.

Seriously. I'm sure Rivian would gladly take back the $25K discount and exchange it for a license plate frame, some valve stems, and a small model truck.

I would upgrade, but I don't think telling my wife that I need a new quad because I want that fancy metal car that comes with the welcome kit is going to work. I've bought 4 cars in 5 years, I think I'm at my limit.
