R1S (2024) second row window (left side) makes a squeaky noise

Hi,

My R1S second row window makes a weird squeaky noise. I have taken it to the Rivian service center in Ontario (Canada) twice. They changed the outside door component, but it is still making a weird noise. The technician also told me that if I hear it again, I should soak a cloth with any all-purpose cleaner and clean the insulation, as it might be due to dirt. The funny part is that it started making noise again within two days. I am attaching a video. If anyone has had this issue, kindly let me know how you fixed it. It's very embarrassing when I have guests in the car.

My 2023 R1S makes the same sound., and they told me to just clean it as well. Never got around to doing it, but I definitely think there's something wrong with the design of JUST that door. The demo car that I drove before my purchase did the exact same thing.

I had that on the same window. I roll down the window, take a microfiber and wipe out the window seal. I then make sure I clean the window. If I wash the R1 more often, it doesn't come back. When I let the car go a little longer between washes, I sometimes hear it. It has to do with the seal itself. It has a steel u-channel built into the seal to apply pressure when the window rolls down and up. They do have a chemical that gets applied to the Amazon EDV window seals to stop this issue, but it isn't a TSB or fix for the R1s.

I believe I have the same problem since day 1 but l’m not getting sound from your video.

I checked mine today and the noise is no longer present. I don’t use the rear windows often and I do keep my R1S pretty clean but you shouldn’t need to keep your vehicle clean to eliminate a noisy window.

I had exact same problem and they gave me same fix that clean it…I kept making service appointment and escalated to service center that this is ridiculous to provide solution to something which is design problem. They did something in my last service appointment, which was more than 6 months back. I never had any issue since then. Pls call service desk and ask them that this is not acceptable. Continue to take this to service center.
