R1S Not Maintaining Charge While Plugged In

Any updates on this? Mine still stops 1% short of the target. No big deal, I just set the target 1% higher than I want it. On a couple of recent trips using DCFC, it went to the full target, so looks like it only has this behavior when using lvl 2 charging.

On the plus side, while keeping it plugged in vampire drain is so minimal now it can go 2 to 3 days without losing enough to initiate a (near) top off charge.

I posted separately and was sent to this thread. I am experiencing the same thing on my R1S. My R1T is fine on the same chargers and the same exact setup. No schedules and no charging limit. I have a case with Rivian and crickets at this point.

They're aware of it and working on it but probably have nothing to report just yet. I am hoping for it to be addressed by the next release (not the one coming this week, but the next)

I think there is also the issue of charging to 80% means it is very soon at 79.9% so not 80 anymore due to the vampire issue. It charges to 100% because by definition your cup cannot run'th over. Partially a perception issue and you don't want to overstate the amount of charge either.

Everyone I created a poll to see how many folks have this issue. If you could cast your vote on the poll so we can get an idea of how many are affected. Especially since it looks like we have at least one owner on .30 software update and it hasn't corrected the issue.

I'm wondering if you have learned anything about what causes this problem and how to deal with it. I started having this problem recently after a year of charging my 2022 R1T with a RIvian wall charger at 40 amps. I tried updating to software 2023.42.01 and nothing changed. When I called Rivian Service they didn't express any confidence about how to fix it. I'm not eager to take it in for service if they don't really know what to do. Any updates would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My service ticket was escalated to the charging team yesterday for this issue. They emailed me today that they are aware of the issue and they are working to address it in a future update.

Here’s an overnight shot. I never saw 70 be hit. It certainly isn’t topping off like it used to.

Right after I change the name of my truck to “Dracula”. 6% drain in 24hrs with Gary watching.

Had to manually open truck with phone to start charging (PAAK FTW… I mean WTF!)

You might ask, “why so grumpy”. Well I just learned that a fully cooked turkey gets delivered to you fully frozen. I’m not kidding. Disaster. LOL

BTW Rivian seems to have no idea what’s going on. They called me last OTA and asked me if it was fixed. I thought “why are you asking me?” It was as if they had their fingers crossed an OTA would magically have a fix.

I think it’s been like this for 4 OTA builds now (and as many months)

I think the “Trip Meter Interns” got moved to the charging team. LOL
