I received mine 5 hours after getting a text and email that I have an in-home delivery scheduled for this Thursday at 10:00 AM. I texted back to confirm and received a response the following day telling that we are on for Thursday ... we will see.

My delivery shifted from June/July 2022 to August/September 2022 only. Lucky I guess, although I ordered a LE R1S in Launch Green with black interior. I believe I preordered in 2019/2020. Pandemic has made my memory foggy!
I live in rural Chester County Penn.
How close are you to a Rivian service center?

Central Pa and East definitely seems to be in a sweet spot for Rivian fulfillment. I still have no idea why I received my R1T in early May when my window was EOY ‘22.

My only guess is that we’re in a weird confluence of being near to a bunch of already operational service centers re: Rockville, MD; Brooklyn, NYC; etc, and being accessible re delivery logistics (easy rail access for shipping trucks from normal)

Guessing this is for an R1T, and not an R1S?

I got one for my R1T LE. Very frustrating May shifting to November even as we see people get delivery in less than 6 months. I hope that email is another snafu.

Thank you for your preorder and your commitment to helping us create a more sustainable world. As we continue to assess our supply chain and build plans, we want to provide an update on your estimated delivery window.

Your Launch Edition R1S estimated delivery window is October - December 2022

Your delivery window estimate is based on your preorder date, delivery location and current configuration. Here’s why your window has shifted:
  1. Supply chain
As we’ve continued to navigate a tight supply chain, we’ve had to reduce complexity wherever possible, including prioritizing certain build combinations over others.
  2. Service Infrastructure
We continue to prioritize deliveries in locations where service infrastructure is in place so that we can provide the full ownership experience to Rivian owners from day one.

We’re grateful for your continued support and will continue to keep you updated. Your preorder is a vote for finding better ways of doing things on a planet that needs all of us to innovate for the future. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Thank you again for being on this journey with us.
I received the exact same delivery window for the r1s. I'm thinking if my Hummer reservation happens before this then I'm bailing on Rivian. They have let me down too much.

I’m still skeptical R1S is actually ready. I live very close to Rivian HQ in Irvine, California. We started seeing frequent R1Ts ~1 year before any customer deliveries were made. And the number we saw grew rapidly month over month before Customer deliveries. We have yet to see 1 single R1S without camouflage wrap. The fact they aren’t being driven around by at least employees around HQ leads me to believe they aren’t ready yet. As soon as I start seeing them on the road I’ll believe sOOn is around the corner.

They probably won't need as much testing for the R1S as they have for the R1T since the T was out the gates first. The battery pack, drive train, infotainment, and all of the sensor package should pretty much be identical.

I agree that they don't need as much testing, but it's already mid-June which leaves just 1.5 months to the start of the earliest updated R1S delivery window (afaik) of August 2022. Is that enough time to conduct even a condensed user testing run, which involves delivering to employees, letting them use it, documenting feedback, incorporating improvements, and adjusting processes as necessary? Not to mention concurrently having to scale up the R1S presence at the Venice hub, for test drives, etc. I dunno, seems a bit ambitious to me.
