Awesome, thanks! You don't happen to have photo of the remote off pink wire? When I did my Gen 2, I didn't come across one.
I don't have a photo of it, but one of the other install threads had it. It's in the bundle just under the carpet by existing subwoofer. Mine is gen1, I'm sure gen2 wiring is different.

I saw in some other threads that there is an obvious + and - on the speaker wires. My speaker has red and black so I am assuming red is +. The wiring harness does not have any indication that I can see.

Anyone find a good signal wire in the Gen 2? I opened up the wire bundle by the sub but did not find the pink wire. My Wavtech is not powering on with the speaker signal. 🙁

Haven’t looked yet myself. Been using signal sensing without any strange power draw. But would like to switch to remote on/off for better power management.

Mind sharing what you used for sound deadening?

Siless 80mil from Amazon. Found it easy to install and applied it to entire under-storage bin area as well as the plastic bottom of storage bin. I don't have experience with alternative products but very happy with the result - no rattling.

I am currently tapped in to the 12v power in the gear tunnel. Apparently that shuts off when the truck sleeps. I have not been able to confirm because I am not sure that it is going into sleep mode. I left it overnight and came out to find that the amp is still powered on without any interaction that would wake the R1T. Unfortunately the Wavtech is not sensing audio power so it does not turn on without the remote signal.

I just double checked my connection with the JD250/1 amp. I'm using the turn-on mode "DC Offset-Sensing" with Input Voltage Range "High". It works, and does turn off the amp but it takes a few minutes. 1-3 minutes after the vehicle goes to sleep.

I found that the DC offset on the wavtech left the amp powered on constantly. There is no adjustment for the sensitivity. The 12V in the gear tunnel does not seem to be an option as it was not powering off after leaving the vehicle idle for a very long time, plenty to go to sleep. I then reattempted to get the speaker level sensing to work. It turns out that channel 1 is not turn on the amp but when I switched to channel 2 it does detect and power on/off the amp.

That's interesting. With the JD250, the manual specifically calls out that the DC offset and speaker sensing only work on channel 1. But I guess to each is their own. What's the delay you are seeing before the amp is turned off?

Here are a couple while building and test-fitting. The box is nothing fancy, just 1/2" MDF, a rectangle to fill the space with a couple notches for protruding bits.

A fiberglass box would have been nicer and could follow the nooks, but reality is I won't ever see the box again unless there is a problem, so it doesn't need to be that pretty.

Can you provide measurements for this box? My friend is training to be a carpenter and would like to build this for me if I can provide him the measurements.

I didn't keep track of them with enough precision to be of use to you. I'd recommend pulling out the factory sub, building a shape out of cardboard and tape to leave with him - or bring your truck to him for the day while he builds it.

Would anyone happen to know where the factory sub is on a Gen 1 R1S?
