@Mark_AZR1T, I understand that this would be a good opportunity to create and sell new jack pucks for the R2. But, for those of us who have an R1 and who are considering purchasing an R2, would it be possible to create an adapter to fit the R2 jackpoints and still utilize the pucks we purchased and use for our R1?
Would be easy enough to just have a countersunk hole on the bottom of the new adapter, but you really don't want this adding more moving parts will make it even more sketchy if everything is not completely vertical slight lean and it will buckle.

but don’t our jackpucks have fairly strong magnets built in? I’m sure those can be utilized to minimize any of the movement you are talking about. There has to be a way to create a snug enough adapter to work with the R2. Our R1 pucks can’t all of a sudden become obsolete.

Gotta say, Im still at a loss here.

how is an exposed location less ideal than having to pop plastic clips and seat a rather small billet adapter?

When I took my Tesla Model 3 to Costco they didn’t lift it either. They used a small manual jack to change and rotate all the tires. Have Tesla done something weird, too?
Could just be a case of "we can only find 3 pucks" so they can't use the lift. That happened to us at Discount Tire... I volunteered to drive home and get my Tesla pucks, but they said they'll just use a floor jack instead.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.

I guess they don’t mind. 🤷‍♂️

It's easy for the boss to say use a floor jack, they're not the ones doing the work. I tipped the kid $20 because he had to put in extra effort.

Nice. 👍

I wasn’t aware that Teslas also had pucks. I might look into some. I usually take the wheel covers off for them too. I’m leasing and if I break them it’s my fault.

I think the issue is that the "exposed location" is smaller than the lifting block on many lifts and jacks. If you just used a regular floor jack there the bodywork surrounding the rubber pad could be damaged.

Looks like I'll bang together something on my workbench I can use with my 3 ton 12v scissor jack if an aftermarket doesn't come up with a cheap alternative.

I just watched a bearded tesla guy video that posted this morning. He shows that it comes with a single jack adapter in the rear cargo area under the floor.

I've linked to that part of the video:

I really appreciated watching that video and some of the others Bearded Tesla Guy has done. He was a big help when I added my electric brake controller to our Model Y. That's another reason I put my order in for the R2 since it not only has a higher tow capacity than the Y but the tow package includes a brake controller in the software so I don't have to do it myself.

Does anyone have the measurement between the jack points, both front to back and side to side?
