R2 Performance Launch Edition Poll: Are You Interested?

No because I am waiting for Lidar and the price tag associated with it.

Without the ADAS hardware installed, and no idea if the missing components could be retrofitted,
this Launch edition look like Half Baked Rivian !!!!


Note: Rivian has confirmed there is no plan to retrofit these early vehicles with Lidar once the technology becomes available in late 2026/2027.

The R2 Launch Edition (shipping spring 2026) will use an "elevated" version of the Gen 2 architecture (cameras and radar only), not the Gen 3 system with Lidar and the RAP1 chip.

I'm super bummed about the light interior not being available for Launch Edition, and I'm lukewarm on the options included in Launch, so I don't think I can justify paying for those and not getting my preferred interior just to take delivery sooner. I'll wait!

Very interested but does anyone know about the confirmed LE color options?

Kyle Connor pre recorded video with release docs showed Esker Silver and the paid LE Green.

But others say Riviantrackr Jose has confirmed all colors, but I haven’t seen that post.

Glad there will be lease options with Launch Edition, however disappointed about Coastal Cloud interior not being available until later. I'm on the fence. I've got previous R1 launch edition owners in my ear saying that I don't want to buy LE. I'm also not thrilled about the prospect of Gen3 hardware rolling out 6 months into my lease term and my "new" R2 LE losing development and support priority to the new platform. Not sure what will happen to my R2 early reservation slot if I check the box saying I'm not interested in LE. Hopefully it means I'd still have priority when other trim levels become available and the lidar version comes out.

I'd get it in a heartbeat but I'm 2+ years out from my budgeted new car window, so we'll sadly wait and see what the options are at that time. I've been reading about these huge leaps we would see in EV's for the last 10 years, and its really just been a slow evolution.

50/50 at best for me. The lack of LIDAR at launch and no option for coastal light interior are 2 big misses. Still no answer on V2H. The plug in 20A nacs plug is meaningless for me.

Really want that V2H if I'm going to be buying a new vehicle.

Checked it out again today as well. Got to see the initial prototype 2 years ago as well.

If I needed to get into a new vehicle today, it would be a yes. Don't need to be though.

You have no idea! Lidar is nice to have but not the reason a Rivian is a Rivian!

I was really interested in LE until I saw that we potentially have to pay for the privilege of having the Launch Green color on the Launch Edition, which seems stupid. If its included I'll get it, as I go through vehicles too quickly LIDAR isn't really something that will push me either way.

Same. Although I did still answer definitely to the Rivian question and this one.

Was hoping for a more earthy brown interior - dark interior/hot summer. Love the blue!

We waited some months to put in a reservation. Have R1T, so no idea where we stand in the queue.

Not ready now but not available now unless I'm magically in the first 25K of reservations in the magic Rivian formula. Based on the below in the R2 email I'll know in June whether I should be ready SooN, Next Year, or 2028
