The Escalante Chamber of Commerce is trying to find the office (or person) who is responsible for selecting sites for a RAN station.

Escalante is on Scenic By Way 12 which connects Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon National Parks and is in the center of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. The nearest RANs are Las Vegas, NV and Grand Junction, CO.

We believe a RAN in Escalante would be an ideal location for people visiting the public lands in southern Utah.

If anyone can give us a contact we would be most appreciative.

RJs email was shared on forums. I am sure he does not look directly, but someone that reports to [email protected] based on quick Google GPT search

I would LOVE to see a RAN station in Escalante. If you need statements of public support please let us know.

If you get this done, I will drive there solely to buy you a beer. Having one in Escalante opens up a huge swath of exploration for Rivian owners.

Love that you’re doing this - thank you!

Yes please! Escalante would the perfect spot for a RAN! That would open up the ability to explore so many amazing areas, especially Hole in the Rock road.

You just triggered a fun memory - I took my old (gen 1) Tundra to Hole in the Rock Rd years ago, and made it to the end just before it drops into the lake. There were a couple of places where my friend was a necessary spotter, but overall it was doable, even in that lumbering beast. I think it would be hilarious to take the Rivian over it next time I get down there.

That would be a nice location as a jumping off point for exploring. Our kids had a lot of fun going through peekaboo and spooky slot canyons!

Try Trent Warnke. Perhaps [email protected]

the RAN setup in Utah is desperately needed you see Colorado and Arizona next door with great build outs and Utah with all the national parks, nothing.

That's got to be a tough sell for a city since only Rivians can charge there.

I would greatly welcome that. I just went to Harris Wash via Hole in the Rock Road with my R1S. I had to charge overnight at a level 2 charger at a Hotel in town, and then again on the way out. A level 3 of any type would be preferable to the current one
Thanks

Escalante and Hanksville chargers would open the entire red rock desert and the largest concentration of public lands in America to RV travel. Almost 14 millions visitors came through here last year spending over 1.5 billion dollars, yet you can’t really get here in a Rivian without unnecessary overnight stays at a motel, if you’re lucky enough to find the one that has a level 2 charger. I missed this post and just made a new one explaining at length our challenge here.
