Please send me your address and let me know when it's installed. I'd love to upgrade some of my tools. In all serious, neat idea, but please add a lock to it.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I think this is a prime opportunity for a company like @EV Sportline or @builtrightind to produce a replacement panel that features a lockable compartment utilizing the additional space leftover from the powered tonneau cover. I like the drawer option, too!
I'll be honest, if I see anyone doing this from scratch it's someone like @BoxGods.

What a great space for a robust and reliable tonneau cover.

This photo makes me sad... Taking delivery shortly and I really wish I could have gotten the powered tonneau cause I can already hear my wife's nagging voice about the likely clunky manual option. Probably better than the "it's jammed" naggy voice tho...
Sounds like y'all might enjoy couples therapy. 😅

This could be a great spot for a water tank for camping

If I didn't have a functioning power tonneau I'd be in for the drawer that @kozak79 mocked up.

Jam a sock in there (to abate the nagging sound)! 🤣💥

Great thread. Taking that panel off and looking in there was one of the things I wanted to do early on when I get my truck, saved me the time. While outside access would be nice, what about just making the inside panel flap down so you can get to it when the bed is open and store things?

Just wanted to chime in and say this is one of the coolest posts I've seen on here in a long time. I hate the idea of dead space in an already small truck bed, so I'm ready and willing to throw money at whatever solution materializes first (drawer seems the most versatile, so that's my de facto fave).

Some safe way to run a cable from Gear Tunnel to truck bed would be great as well... and should be easy to achieve? I like idea of use of lithium battery in truck bed with power running to fridge in gear tunnel or backseat... dont want to waste the geartunnel space for the battery. Also was planning to use same battery for lights instead of always having to activate camp mode consuming high voltage battery power.
