Rivian Reward Program devalued again

Here’s what you get:
When an order is placed with your referral code, both you and the person you referred will receive Rivian Rewards points, plus three months of charging on the Rivian Adventure Network.2

When your referral code is used to purchase a new vehicle, you will receive 250 points.

The purchaser will receive Rivian Rewards points based on the vehicle purchased:

• 500 points: Tri or Quad
• 250 points: Dual with Large or Max battery
• 100 points: Dual Standard

I mean, if you think about it, that’s potentially a large cost for Rivian, so I get them wanting to cut it back. You can’t expect them to keep the exact same rewards program forever.

I don’t know why they don’t allow you to use your points to subscribe to C+. I would guess to Rivian, it would cost them less vs me getting actual free physical items like crossbars, chargers, tents, recovery boards, etc. Maybe I’m wrong.

I think you skipped directly over my point. Referring yourself is not the goal of a referral program for a company. And so you had free money handed to you.
Now if you had gone out and found somebody that didn’t know about Rivian and helped convince them to buy, then you would have legitimately referred somebody and maybe you’d be entitled more to that money. But as you stated it, you just expected Rivian to get you money - which, I’m sorry, is not good business.

If it makes you feel any better, not only can you not get Rivian rewards in Canada, but we also can't order anything from the gear shop without going to a service centre and ordering directly through them.

Honestly, it's better than nothing lol. When do you ever get rewards for all other car brands, minus TSLA.

I think they changed it again? I only see a mention of 3 months charging for the referrer. I don't see any mention of 250 points anymore, not even in the terms and conditions.

Edit: Ok, in the app, there is still mention of 250 points for the referrer.
