I still love my R1T but I never user driver +
You use Driver+ all the time, but you don't know what it is. You seem to know what FSD is on Teslas, but don't know the tech in your own vehicle. I would guess that it is "Highway Assist" that you "never user." Highway Assist is actually only available on select (mapped) highways, and even on those, it will disengage whenever it is unsure (although it is better than it used to be).

Gross, Tesla's autopilot is pretty bad. The fact you have to keep torque on the steering wheel is absurd and can be downright dangerous when it unexepectedly disengages.
What? Just got V12.3.6 today , 3rd upgrade in 3 weeks. Each time getting better and better. This AI thing is incredible; rapidly improving. Try for yourself before commenting. This is a game changer

Just try for yourself V12.3, and rewrite your post. Prejudice is never a good thing. I think V13 will be classified as level 4. Remains to be seen.
It will never be level 4. A system that gets blinded by the sun will never be classified beyond level 2. Tesla uses a camera based system and has removed ultrasonic sensors and radar. That means if it’s snowing or raining too hard your car can’t see. It is terrible to drive when the sun is rising in the morning. Take a drive on the 10 freeway headed towards Arizona as the sun rises and watch how many times your Tesla swerves out of the lane and tell me it’s level four. Never gonna happen. It is incredibly dangerous because the second it realizes that it can’t safely drive it relinquishes control to you so if you’re not holding onto the wheel and ready it’s going to get fun. I like your optimism though. I’m a big fan of auto pilot but I also think it’s a big bag of hot garbage. My 2018 model 3 was more capable than the 2023 model 3 that I currently own.

I have no idea what version my Model 3LR had, but unless they changed the requirement for torque on the wheel I don't see my opinion changing. Lane centering was great (especially since it can be used on regular roads) but the lack of driver vision monitoring and the requirement for torque on the wheel made it a pretty bad system.
Tesla is removing the torque requirement in the next update 12.4 for vehicles with an interior camera, as long as it can see that your eyes are on the road.

I use FSD daily and I think it's amazing. Would love to have it on my Rivian too. I wish more people would help port Comma AI/Openpilot over in the mean time.
