There should be a huge market but Trump turned half the country to be against EVs and "windmills", despite the enormous support from an EV trillionaire (such a new word it's not in my auto check)... and f'd the economy up. So hopefully Scout will still make it.I think there could be a big market for a American "truck people" to have their first EV be a full-size pickup (larger than R1T) with buttons and the Scout aesthetic (not Tesla touchscreen aesthetic) and is an EREV that can basically fall back to operating like a gas vehicle. I would personally rather see Scout ditch the EREV and just offer the BEVs, but I do think it has the potential to pay off huge.
When Scout first announced my reaction was the vehicle was worth way more than their price point which was $60k. I still think so and there has been inflation since then and more to come. Also rumors that achieving the EREV capabilities without compromising specs has been a challenge.
That said, the $60k version is probably going to be a entry level EV only without the generator.
