Roof cargo box recommendations

Does the roof box clear the antenna? My Rivian crossbars arrived yesterday, and I tried putting my old Thule Pulse L up there but was concerned that the roof box was resting on the antenna. Thanks!

Yes, it clears the antenna no problem. Will put on again this weekend for a camping trip coming up. If interested, can snap a few photos.

I bought a Thule Motion XT XXL and it fits well with the racks, and just works in the middle and back anchor points (better for aero).

Thanks for suggesting! Just purchased the same Thule xxl box and fits great on our r1-s. Rear liftgate does not hit if installed in full forward position. Rack company agreed that our old Yakima would not work due to width of crossbars and recommend Thule option.

I ended up getting the Yakima GrandTour Lo and it works just fine. The clamps connect securely with no problems. I wish the bars on the rood were spaced differently. Sits pretty far back and quite a bit overhang from the front bar but works. I needed low profile to get into my garage. Rackaport didn’t work and Skiguard didn’t either. I think Inno would have been the best option because you can place it pretty much where you want.

I went with Rivian Crossbars and a Thule Vextor Alpine. Fits perfect. Super sleek looking too. It does not come in contact with the tailgate either.

I have the Rivian cross bars but my Yakima carbonate skybox clamps are not compatible with the crossbars. Do we have any confirmation of which cargo boxes are compatible with the R1S?

The Yakima CBX works well on the Rivian cross bars for the R1S. You will need to move your bars to the 2nd and 3rd position on the roof of the vehicle. The position closest to the windshield will not work.

Whatever you get, now is the perfect time to get something. REI is going to start their anniversary sale tomorrow and have 20% off all Thule and Yakima boxes and racks. The real deal here is that you can get the box shipped to your local REI for FREE pickup. This is a big deal because the shipping on these big boxes of air can be a PITA.

I'm partial to the Yakima and it's kind of like cordless tools, once you subscribe to a particular brand you tend to continue with it because of familiarity, the core lock exchanges, etc. I think they are both great, but the Thule tend to have a little more of a European vibe in their styling and function and the Yakima a little more of the adventure weekend warrior vibe. The core locks in the Rivian cross bars are Yakima.
