Yes, in general I've found mine to have poor quality components and poor workmanship.

This is not news, it's been that way, quite literally, for years now.

Why does everyone on here want one then? I had mine for 3.5 years and it would brick once per year and I only put on 15k miles total. So many non stop issues. But I would mention that on this forum and everyone would get mad st me. Meanies on here or something

Model 3/Y are very well built and they used the data the millions of vehicles on the road to make even more improvements to the Highland/Juniper refreshes. Call me crazy, but when the studies come out in a few years these new Teslas will have Lexus/Toyota caliber reliability...they are still behind on fit and finish though. Rivian just doesn't have enough data, or a mature enough industrial operation at this point to make huge strides in quality....hopefully they will do their best to get there eventually, but it will take time.

Everyone's experience is unique. I've had other cars (eg, Mini Cooper) that were far worse for issues. My midyear 2023 R1T has had a few issues: wind noise from A-pillar trim near the top, a suspension sensor that corroded, a half-shaft thunk, and wait times to get in for service (at least in Boston), but Rivian was responsive for the suspension and half-shaft and I haven't reported the A-pillar since I found a fix myself.

But build materials feel solid and driving experience is phenomenal. Utility is exceptional. All in all, for a first run vehicle, I find it pretty amazing. Now, if continued production doesn't improve, then that is an issue.

My $0.02 and YMMV.

Rivian owners are very satisfied because they are getting incredible service currently, once there are hundreds of thousands of R2s on the roads the service centers will be packed and the parts delivery infrastructure will be inadequate and people will complain. It will then take time to build up the service infrastructure. Same thing happened at Tesla when Model 3 was released.

You own one but asking if they're unreliable?

I've owned 5 Tesla's now since 2015 and 2 Rivian R1T's. The amount of small issues I've had are very comparable between both brands - that has been my experience.
