Shout out to Discount Tire

First R1S tire rotation today and @Discount Tire did a good job.

They were patient about learning about the vehicle’s unique tire change process.They thanked me for the chance to learn about a Rivian. They thanked me for providing jack pucks. They assured me if they had any questions, they would come ask me. They even looked up pricing for the tires and told me they could order them from Tire Rack when I wear these out.

I did give them a copy of the R1S tire change instructions another owner posted to this forum. I opened the lift point covers, to avoid confusion. I put the R1S on “highest” and tire change mode.

Thanks for all the tire rotation advice on the forum.

FYI - I just ordered tires from them today for an install Tuesday. They WILL price match Costco (which has same price on tires but does free installs). Just hit the "found it cheaper" button on the tire page and have a chat with an agent.

Worth the extra 5 mins to save $130.

The Discount tire in Burlington WA is pretty awesome. I do the R1T rotations and have not needed tires yet but my wife and I take our "garage queens" there and are treated well.

When I installed my lift, I installed a 15,000# lift to be able to lift R1s and RDVs. (Among another heavy things…but I had the requirement to be able to lift Rivian’s.

I have installed tires, running boards, pull down under body panels and done rotations on Rivian’s with the lift. Makes like so much easier.

I used to love Discount Tire. Had spent over $25k on tires with my location in Colorado Springs. Sadly, when they put new tires on my R1S they damaged one of wheels. While the store was apologetic, and I totally get that accidents happen, they sent me through their “insurance” which was a disaster. So they’ve lost a 20+ year customer now. Plenty of good options.

Just had a great experience at the Americas Tire in Lake Forest CA. A month ago had tires installed by them and then took the truck back today to get the tires rebalanced after having alignment done at SC. Both times they put the truck in service mode and used the pucks in the right location and replaced the covers after use. Would highly recommend them.

I've had multiple good interactions with the Discount Tire at 18643 NE Eider Ct in Hillsboro, Oregon.

On two occasions, management staff reviewing post-service feedback called me to follow up on my reviews. I still watch them when they're working on the truck, but that would be the case for any tire shop. If you happen to go to this location, ask for "Ace" (not kidding); if he's not available, ask for "Art." They have greater pricing flexibility than other front-facing staff.

Also, don't be bashful about asking for price matching or even just asking, "Is that the best you can do?" With respect to price matching, the web is your friend; they matched a published price from some online entity that was $63 per tire lower than the published Discount Tire price. Again, even if you don't find a lower price for tires, wheels, TPMS sensors, etc., ask if they can do anything.

Love discount tire. But I still don’t trust them to touch my 100k vehicle. Especially after watching them jack up a Tesla with no pucks

They dont tend to have quality employees. They seem to be so busy they just throw a guy in each job, even if they don't know what they are doing sometimes. I do keep using them however, since I bought my Continental Terrain Contact tires through them and I have the coverage through them now and free rotations (No, my wiper blades are fine!). They have now lost all my factory valve stem covers (grey) so now I bought new black metal covers to match my sport dark wheels, and I just had them pull a screw from two of my tires and one came back with the cover, the other came back as a naked valve stem. I am going back to the store tomorrow to ask for the cover since this is like the 5th one now
