I was told that this is not the case with the Rivian. If a new version is pushed and you haven't installed the previous - the older update will be deleted and the new update will take it's place. The packages are full system.
Cumulative updates would be great. Let's see if my app's reminder to update to 42.01 changes to 42.46... in 2 weeks when my VIN gets notified...

Has anyone had issues with the driver seat and wheel settings not being remembered/saved since the last update or two back? Mine never remembers the setting and I think that started recently. Currently on .42.01

I don't understand why so many are so terrified about OTA updates after the last incident. Once a company that size made a big QA mistake like 42.0, they will probably never (a least in the next couple of years) make the same mistake again; I'm sure Rivian had beef up their QA process.

Tailgate opens normally using the outside button, app, and center screen. Same for the hood, gear tunnels, and locking the truck. Camp speaker works.
Did you notice the decreased volume / max volume issue that was pretty widely reported with .41 and, if so, was that fixed with .46?

I've held out on .41 entirely but debating letting that update run tonight since it is sounding like being current is in fact a requirement to get the next OTA & I'd like to get to .46 when available (mostly for the automatic D+ resumption after lane change).

I did not drive for 24 hours until I was certain it was safe to drive a 3225 kg vehicle with an uncertain compromised functionality after the initial 2023.42 update. Vehicles are inherently risky and cannot be taken lightly.

My volume has never been affected. I typically listen, if at all, around 4-5 on the volume scale. No change in volume after this update for me.

Mine has been like that for the last 9 months. Once we got the option to calibrate the seats, it worked for about a month and then went back to being grayed out. Not a big deal to me since I'm the only person that drives my truck but annoying nonetheless.

Hoping this update fixes .42. Have gone from a zero drama car to...
Vampire drain quadrupled from 0-1 to 4 miles overnight
Navigation screen turned black mid drive
Passenger seat heater randomly turning on and off during a drive
Random reset mid-week while on vacation, which turned gearguard back on

I tested all the controls just to be complete and reassure those who have yet to update. I think we are all just more aware of the stakes when updating modern vehicles.

Anyone know if WI-FI connection is needed to download and get the notification that it's ready for updating? Seems like I have updated before when I wasn't on WI-FI, not completely sure???
You definitely don’t need WiFi to get the notification (in vehicle and app) that an update is ready. I’m not sure about whether you can download it without wifi

It’s kind of obvious why people would be a little nervous about it..particularly those who were bricked. I received the first (bad) update immediately upon release but only initiate updates when at home, connected to charger and done driving for the day/night. Fortunately they realized the issue and pulled the update before I got home that day.
Going forward I plan to let each update sit for a day or 2 before installing. I need (and want) my truck to be functional and safe more than I need or want the new features immediately

I don’t think any update has bricked a truck.

I have not read of any yet. entertainment not working yes. But my Polestar had to be towed twice to SC as the software enabled the car useless.
