There was another thread about this a few weeks ago.
My general thought? If you go for long (week+) camping trips off-grid often, or live in a truly remote place where there is no possibility of charging at home; but you get a lot of sun, and can park in a place without shade, this *MIGHT* make sense.
But it is an expensive solution for it. The example they show of parking in a city with this? Pointless. You won't get more than a couple miles of range added per day, and parking in a busy area with this is just inviting vandalism. (Yeah, they say it's made so people can't just take it off, but that doesn't stop someone from just folding it up, or slicing the "petals" apart. Or other vandalism.)
The only serious use I can think of that this makes any financial sense is a friend who lives on a floating home (aka "houseboat",) where their parking is a gravel lot on shore with no power but behind a gate, and works from home. This would keep them "topped off" and not have to worry at all about vampire drain or public charging for occasional shorter drives. (Said friend has a Tesla with free Supercharging, so they just Supercharge when running errands.)
