Life has been really busy and I haven’t posted in a while. I just wanted to take a moment to say that I’m still really enjoying our Rivian.

For the record: I’m not a fanboy and I have no problem discussing the shortcomings. However, over 3 years now our Gen1 Launch Edition R1S and then Gen2 TriMax R1S have been incredibly capable, comfortable, and a delight to drive. I can’t think of another vehicle which is so good at so many things.

I know it’s odd to write a post like this on a car forum. I just figured I’d take a moment to share an example of a happy Rivian owner and I hope most of you out there are happy Rivian owners, too! :)

Ditto for my 2023 R1S. I am getting rid of it...but only because my R2 is on the way.

Ditto for my 2022 R1S (1663), 53k miles in 3.5 years, great road trip vehicle.

Will be adding an R2 to the fleet next week.

I just love my ‘23 R1T QM Adventure series. I now have about 33,000 miles on it - off road, on road, in the snow, everywhere. It’s still THE most capable and enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned, and I’ve had a bunch. After all this time, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a good drive, any drive in my R1T. It’s like a frickin’ drug. You’d think I would have gotten over it by now. Nope!

A few months ago, I added a Comma 4 and that added a whole new dimension of cool to it.

I'm with you. While it does have it's annoying flaws and short-comings, I am very happy with my R1S Tri. I will be setting off on my 3rd 2,000+ mile road trip next month, all of which include sleeping in the vehicle. Overall, my Rivian has been a delight.

Best wishes, and adventure on!

My ‘22 R1T (VIN -14,xxx) just crossed 50k miles. It is a wonderful machine. I just changed out my Pirelli ATs for Michelin Defenders AS tires. It is like a new truck. What a fantastic upgrade.
Regardless, contemplating a trade in for the R2. I never had the heart to get rid of my ‘04 Tundra when I purchased the R1T. I don’t need 2 trucks and don’t think I want to own the Rivian past its warranty.

Nice! Found a pic of your future ride. How's the Mr. Fusion holding up?

Did you get 50k miles on the original factory tires? If so, kudos to you!

Oh no- The truck came with 21s because I needed take delivery before tax benefit expired at the end of ‘22. I wore those out and then made the switch to the 20s. I had almost 25k miles on each set. Those Pirelli ATs sucked ass.
