Taillights blinking randomly while truck is locked and off

Any resolution to this? It has been a while. You guys may have to find an exorcist is SC can’t take care of it.

Ditto on everything except I have iPhone - it’s not set up as PaaK

I’m guessing it’s the fob and some software bug.

I had wondered if Android was the issue. Appears not. I installed .19 tonight, tried to use PaaK / Proximity Key again but that still doesn't work for shit. So I'm back to this setup. My phone is setup as a key, but Proximity unlock / lock isn't enabled. I'll keep an eye on it and report back if .19 improved anything with regards to this light issue.

I'm also disabling Gear Guard entirely now. It's not any better under .19 but wondering if that could also be some issue.

I came outside to see see my R1T tail lights randomly blinking every few seconds. Sometimes fast, sometimes after like a 40-50 seconds. Is this a bug? Anyone know what was happening?

I first thought maybe the security system was going off but its set to not record while at home. I also didn't see the yeti on the screen at all.

Truck was parked, locked, and I don't have proximity key enabled on my phone. Nor did I have any keys on me. It was doing this for several minutes. I left and I haven't seen it doing it since I got back home.

I have the same issue and my Gear Guard was not activated.

If the FOB wakes up the truck, why doesn't it work as a proximity key? Or is it supposed to?

I think eventually it is supposed to...I just know that when I get within 10 ft and its in my pocket, I hear the truck make some little clicks and whirrs...I don't have PAAK with my loaner, so not connected in any way to phone.

Mine does that with no key present at all.

There are a lot of things with this truck that seem 'random' to me. But this is just because we don't understand them or know what normal really is yet.

This is exactly how my operates as well. I think it's basically getting the truck "ready" for you to unlock it. I still think the proximity key doesn't automatically unlock the doors because they haven't figured out the bluetooth battery drain yet.

The fob battery would die in days if they enabled it before fixing the issue. The same reason the android app drains my phones battery if the Rivian app is left open.

I had this happen first night with the truck, before the latest update.

After the update, keeping the phone far away, lights don't do anything.

Android. All proximity settings off, gear guard off.

Same problem with rear tail lights but I also have a problem with the exterior door handle lights. When parked in the garage and left unlocked sometimes they time out after five or ten minutes, sometimes they stay on all night and probably contribute somewhat to battery drain. Contacted service but not gotten a reply. They should be on the same circuit as the puddle lights and then the timing could be adjusted.
