After the dismissal of the entire Tesla Supercharger team this spring, concerns for the continued expansion of the network was on a lot of our minds. Per the website supercharge.info, construction/permitting/planning is continuing at a good pace. Earlier this summer planning and permitting updates on this site dwindled but many new additions have been appearing recently.

These graphics are outdated and are showing several sites that have been removed from Tesla's official maps. For instance, there are only two sites that are still planned or permitted in Nashville and suberbs/exurbs.

Biggest bummer is that a lot of the major interstate SC were done early on and are v2. For example i80 from Truckee to Salt Lake City, and beyond...

Where do you find Tesla's official maps?

This. I70 and I80 are still problematic. I noticed in planning a Denver to Chicago trip that there are a couple V2/V3 combo sites that would've been nice to use, but for some reason Tesla refuses to open these sites to non-Tesla. I'm sure it has to do with confusion and identifying the V3 dispensers that we can actually use, etc...but it would be really nice if these combo sites could be opened.

I agree, an example is Indio, CA, they added 36 v3 to a location that had 8 v2 and 2 v1 chargers. Site is not open to NACS but the area really could use more fast chargers for non-Tesla.

Unless I am missing something, that map only shows operational sites. Is there any official map on future sites?
The sites in gray are "in development" or "under construction."

Wow. Thanks for pointing that out. I have looked at that map many times and never noticed the under development locations. Someone at Tesla needs to learn to make a map with better symbols. Dark gray electricity symbol is destination chargers and light gray is in development and they don't show up in the legend. :movember: They turn on and off with the Supercharger filter.

I never noticed that either. Thanks for pointing it out. My point with this post remains though, the supercharger networks is still expanding.

I now question the reliability of the SC map. I know this is only one datapoint and I’m probably the only person who cares about this location. Tesla doesn’t seem to care to update it. I travel often for work. This Version 2 SuperCharger station has been down for close to two months. The Sheetz gas station it sits on has been demolished for renovation. Yes, this is relevant when I drive my Model Y into West Virginia. It’s a mission critical Supercharger because there aren’t many options within 100 miles.
