The wait is getting really annoying

How are you all keeping your cool? I ordered my R1S on June 6. Not a word since beside the reservation confirmation. Sales Rep can't say anything either. Delivery schedule is August - September, how are there no updates to manage expectations? Already seeing similar configs in the shop, which makes it even worse - they're building for the shop but not the custom orders? It would be awesome to get updates about when your car is scheduled to be built etc.

Paitence. August is just around the corner. You will hear from them when they have a VIN for you. That's how it's been for a long time and now that there are no more guides there is minimal communication until your order is ready.

You're kidding right?

Some of the members here waited 4 years after paying the reservation fee to take delivery.

Most of us waited years. I think you may not get the sympathy you’re expecting for waiting a bit over a month :)

Waiting stinks. But you’ll get used to it.

How was the communication from Rivian? Did you expect to wait for years or check every day for an update? I don't expect sympathy, just wondering why they suck so much at this part. You have a reservation, there must be a schedule/queue and production targets for every day, why not be transparent about it.

^ Rivian comms have historically been terrible, it's probably the #2 most complained about issue right behind #1 terribly long Service Center wait times for non-critical items.

The honest answer is that Rivian is terrible at communication. They’ve gotten slightly better over the years, but expectation setting and management is still a weak spot.

Communication was better than what I got when I ordered my Mach E and heard crickets until it was ready for delivery 4 months later. That’s kind of what you should expect when you order a vehicle from any manufacturer.

I ordered our first Rivian on Dec., 8, 2018 and 38 months later, I received it ;)......Worth the wait. Worth the wait...
