Hi all, I am having a couple issues with my '22 R1T Adventure Quad

Tic-tok noise:
I am now going in for my second visit for the tik-toc noise issue, they supposedly fixed 3 weeks ago, the sound was gone for like 2 days. Then it came back and it's even more obnoxious now. Last time they tried to tell me it's minor and not hurting anything, like they were being dismissive. I had a loaner with like 6k miles on it and pointed out it doesn't make a sound therefore mine with 20k miles shouldn't either. I'm guessing they'll give me the run around again during my next service. I think this "ting washer" thing is a bigger deal than they'd like to admit.

Steering wheel shimmy:
Before replacing the original Pirellis it had a shimmy above 70mph. I thought it was probably a balance issue, and my tires were pretty shot anyways, so I had Discount Tire put new Pirellis on it and the shimmy is still there, but intermittently. Sometimes it's smooth sailing, others it's like a jeep death wobble. Lol... ok maybe not that bad but it's definitely a borderline violent shake. Oh, 20" wheels.

I am worried they're going to try to downplay both issues. Has anyone here had the same issues and found the right approach to get them to take things seriously? I use the Denver SC... I've been in for a few small things, and they've been great, but this 2nd time for the tic-tok issue is annoying.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Always an awesome supportive forum, that I genuinely appreciate and enjoy.

I'm sure "service level" is specific to each SC, but I haven't had experience with mine downplaying anything. They've even added significant extras to small items services to check on bigger things they must be seeing that I was not. Went in for a trim piece replacement and they added a check on both motors for something (wouldn't tell me).

From everything I've read here they've replace motors, 12V batteries, main propulsion batteries and subframes without a lot of pushback.

I've read they have an AI system in place to help translate customer speak to what could be wrong with the vehicle. RJ may have commented on that in a recent interview.

I have a 22 R1T with the same issues. I jad ting washer service last September and it seems to be coming back and same intermittent shaking shimmy at higher speeds aIong with the weird hood flutter at highway speeds like the metal is thin and air is getting under it. I have 30k miles on it and about to replace the tires. I can't get in for service until November. I hope you get good fixes. I will be interested to hear what they do for you.

There is a campaign for the hood problem.

OH really? I didn't know that.. I'll add a comment to my service order. They have asked me to take a short video of the "hood flutter" and add it to my service request but not the eases' to do at high speed on the freeway unless someone is with me.

If ting washers don't work then I think solution is new hubs and half shafts.
That was what I was thinking would be the next step. I am guessing that will turn in to a long wait for parts. I sure hope not! Thanks for the input.

I am in same boat. Ting washers being installed now. I give it low odds of long term success but we will see.

Confirmed... During my last appointment they attempted to just tighten the hub bolts as there was a new torque spec just introduced. It did not work... Taking it back in this week to have the hubs replaced.

Update: They ended up replacing the half-shafts, re-torquing the hub bolts and replacing the the output seals. It's only been 24 hours, but everything seems tight and quiet.

Curious if these two issues are related bc I have both as well. The truck is in service now for them. My SC has always been good to work with, despite others complaining about them (Costs Mesa).

I asked the same question. The service center is adamant the shimmy is a result of unbalanced wheel & tires. I informed them I'm on my second set of OEM tires and that I recently had them rotated and balanced, and the shimmy didn't go away. Their response was something along the lines of, due to the weight of the truck, the balance of the wheels and tires is different than when it's being done on a balance machine. I'm not sure I actually buy that, but I'm definitely not a subject matter expert. So I'll just take them back to Discount and have them rebalanced, and see what happens.

I have the same issue on my 22 R1T, have a service appointment next week. They already sent me an Enterprise rental confirmation. At low speed, when pressing the accelerator, you hear a tik and when you let go, you hear a tok. Happens every time at low speeds, very noticeable.

I have these issues in my new Gen2 Tri. Started at about 1000 miles. What ever became of your SC fix? Still holding well?
