I just finished chatting with CS regarding the tonneau cover and this is what they said:

You'd think that if they could bring it to market with minimal warranty concerns they would have done it. The fact that it's been left to the aftermarket is telling. Even more striking that they don't even offer an accessory version.
It makes me think they really did not have a focus group of truck owners to go over the real uses for the bed. I live @ 4k ft, I still have 10 ft of snow in my front yard. In the fall pine needles will start coming off the tall furs like rainfall, if I don't clean the powered T off every time its opened where do you think all of those needles are going to end up? is there a way to clean the area above the gear tunnel where its stored? BTW it's a question I have asked both the guide and the SC Mgr with a reply of " that's a good question, you probably just want to keep it open all the time".

That is directly in conflict to what my guide has told me. Maybe if you have the new pricing structure you can, I was told no joy.

Nice part regarding the 4-panel manual cover is if it gets damaged... order a new one (or maybe even individual panels will be available some time in the future?) and no Service Center installation required vs. if you damage the $$$ powered cover. Lots of advantages to owning the manual cover.

The configurator does reference a 4-piece manual cover.

Any reports of people taking delivery of anything other than the powered tonneau? My order of preference is 1) manual cover, 2) no cover, 3, buggy and guessing soon-to-be recalled power cover.

Just curious if anyone has been able to order and receive delivery of 1 or 2?
Just open it and never close it. Then you have option #2 and it wont ever break.

aftermarket options will be better built and allow one to select what they prefer for their needs. I still don't see any need for a "power" cover.

You nailed It with the concern over falling tree bits. I’ve tried to keep it brushed off, but the little bits of crud that are constantly falling from the trees (in the city, even) have already jammed mine up good and I have a service ticket open to repair it after less than 2 months of ownership.

This is my plan. Open it as soon as I take delivery and never close it. I’d like to devise a method of sealing it off to keep debris accumulating around the edges. Gaffer tape maybe?

I would love this answer. I haven't seen anyone report this happening as of yet. Seems silly that you'd move to the back of the line for rejecting the power option but there's a lot of silliness so who knows.
They currently are not building them without the power tonneau to ease the production ramp, so if you really want manual or none you gotta wait a while. Similar to what's going on with the OC interior. There are basically no "options" on the trucks that are being built other than paint and interior colors. All LE and Adventure means the equipment is the same for all of them. All the other stuff, wheels, cargo bars, off-road protection, are mainly simply bolt-on accessories.

Can't help but notice that they did not actually answer your question. This is neither a yes nor a no... but congrats on asking an "awesome" question! :)

My guide said she has been given no information regarding availability of either manual tonneau or tonneau delete.

Can someone on this tread check on the Configurator "pre price increase" if you can order the Adventure w/o said tonneau. My config is locked and I might do some horse trading with someone who wants a LE that's in the queue.

My config is not locked and I can toggle among all three options.

Assuming it's not waterproof, be sure to open/remove the "drain plug" in the spare tire cavity. And check to see if any of the provided tools would end up in standing water or be damaged by rain over time.

Will the spare itself sit in standing water?
