On my tailgate, the left side tailgate cable is taught but the right side tailgate cable has a slight looseness to it. The service center advised this is normal.
Looking to hear other R1T owners experience, is this true?

Mine is the same. I let the SC know when I did the inspection. They said it was normal now that you have it I’m guessing it is. Anyone else posting otherwise is wrong and their tailgates aren’t normal. :p

Thank you for reply, I reported also upon initial inspection from purchase in November, just got it back today from my scheduled appointment (5 months later LOL).
It just bugs me seeing it every time I drop the tailgate!

My left side cable has slack.
To close the tailgate, I have to slam it hard from the upper right corner.
If i don't hit it Just Right, it'll show up as "open" on the main display.
It didn't need special-focus slamming like that until it did.
I think & feel like the tailgate has become skewed
& I blame it on those mis-matched cables.
I should switch them just to see.

I had this issue and eventually it wont go away… the problem stems from the 2 latch bolts being over tightened. You have to remove cladding then loosen latch bolts. If you search this forum instructions exist. I no longer have the issue and can close slow now.

Same observation. I mentioned it at my last tire rotation at the service center and was told it is normal/intentional and when enough weight is applied they work together.

Normal. There's no adjustment with how the cables were designed. Out of curiosity I took mine off, but they are definitely required and can't be adjusted.

Yeah, mine too. It doesn't seem to be an issue. I haven't determined if it is because the cables are different lengths or because the tailgate is warped. Either way, it doesn't seem right.

Sitting on my tail on my tailgate solved my OCD as I could then see both cables tighten up. When under load, they are even enough.

There, fixed it. The mental part at least.
