Not true. I have a delivery date of 7/17 for my first R2 reservation. And my second reservation has an estimate of 2-4 weeks to place my order. Seems a bit unfair to everyone else.

I got Sept-Nov 26. Reserved March 2026, not a Rivian owner. I said I was interested in the launch edition and gave them details on my lease ending early 2028(!) So I won't be ordering anything until late 2027. I was actually expecting an order window of mid 2027 because of my end of lease date.

It is because on that reservation I am willing to bet he put NOT INTERESTED in launch. All who answered that say Dec 2026-Feb 2027.

Curious to see how many premium they make without LiDAR now.

Lidar will initially only be on the performance/launch versions at the end of this year. Source: Rivian AI told me so.

I just logged in and it says “you’ll be able to order August-September, 2026” No email yet, getting even the 2FA took 5 minutes.

First day reservation holder, not current owner, near SC, reserved day 1, hour 1, minute 13. Go figure.

If seems if one reserved day 1 VERY early and even not a current Rivian owner, that lands Aug-Sept (based on my and others in this threads posts)

But if you order “in march” it moves to Sept-Oct, or Oct-Nov? So really only a month behind’ish.

I can't be too mad as it is still before winter here in NY. I did select that I would want a launch edition. I'm about an hour and change from a SC, I would be a first-time Rivian owner, and I don't have a lease the is ending soon.

I turn my Polestar over on this Friday and will be without a vehicle once I do that. I let the Rivian rep know this after my demo drive and received a message a couple of days ago claiming that my order would be marked to help expedite my invite… does not appear to be expedited if it’ll be another 2-8 weeks after ordering, potentially leaving me without a car until October.

Based on all of this it’s looking like I may end up not being a Rivian owner

So if you want launch edition, sounds like you will get it this year! When depends on distance to SC and reservation date, prior or current ownership does not seem to be worth much.

Mine is August to September. Day one reservation. Catalina/Coastal cloud. LE. Do not own an R1. Live in NM over 200 miles from service center.

December 2026 - February 2027 window for me.

I reserved April 4, 2024. I selected that I am not interested in a LE Performance. I'm hoping for a Premium so I can use the extra money for a color other than Esker Silver or the Cloud interior.

Oh, this is so frustrating. Since the Subaru dealer told me it would be 3-4 months for the exact Trailseeker configuration I wanted, I was going to order that if it looked like the R2 would take longer. My order invite window of Aug-Sep means it'll be 3-4 months for the R2 to be in my garage.... so either way I have to wait the same amount of time. *grumble*
I guess I'll just stick with the R2 then.

It seems like a current joke in the auto industry. It feels like EVERYTHING is getting here in the fall. I was also considering the BMW ix3 and the Volvo EX60 and guess what? Was told September-October for those too, same as my R2 window.

If anyone needs an EV this summer, they are SOOL.
