No, because the better cameras are also tied into the more powerful gen2 computers.
Someone posted the connections to the cameras. Not only are the cameras different they have a different wiring harness and plugs. So even if you bought the new cameras you couldn’t just plug them in. Also while I don’t believe the processor is the real limiting factor it’s the new zonal architecture and wiring that was introduced in Gen 2x.

This would be a cool feature, and a huge money maker, if rivian could make parts fairly easily upgradable. Also would keep used prices up on used vehicles I would assume. Cameras that can be swapped out, upgradeable CPU's, screens, maybe a few aux inputs for tactile controls, steam decks, lighting, tape deck, laser disk, or whatever anyone can think of... I'm sure someone else could come up with better ideas... Customizable options, i would think, would benefit everyone.

The only way I know how to upgrade the Gen 1 to Gen 2 cameras is to go buy a Gen 2. Otherwise the hardware in Gen1 won't support the cameras.

I don't know how much of a money maker this would be for Rivian, but I think it's awesome that Lucid allows owners of older Air models to upgrade the infotainment CPU and memory to 2025 model specs.
