Just be advised that the 1st service technician didn't actually take the center console apart to confirm the usb-c cable was properly connected; all he did was confirm the connection was bad, so he ordered the part and said it would take a 2nd service call to replace it.

The 2nd service technician took apart the center console to replace the part and informed me it was simply a matter of the usb-c cable was not properly connected at the factory. SMH

So, make sure your service technician confirms that it was properly connected at the factory.

FWIW, it did work for a few weeks after delivery but it eventually wiggled loose with use I guess since it wasn't *firmly* connected at the factory.
Dude, you had my EXACT issue! The ports did work for a week or so then all of the sudden stopped. I'll be sure to mention your issue when they come, thanks!

TBH you could probably fix it yourself if you opened up the center console.

The Denver Service Center just fixed my center console USB-C ports. Turned out one of the cords connecting the center console USB-C ports to the main screen was bad.

The whole center console plus some had to be opened up to replace the cord. Went from a 2.7 hour estimate to a 2 day project.

My mobile service guy came yesterday and couldn’t fix it. Sounds like it could be a similar issue that you had with a bad wire. All fuses seemed fine, so he’s trying that next with a new service appt.

I picked up a used R1S a week ago with 115 miles and was trying to set up the dash cam and it didn’t work. This whole time I thought the drive I bought was bad.
I purchased one of those TWraps charging platform and realized that doesn’t work either. So I confirmed that it’s not the charging pad by plugging it in the rear center console usb c and it worked.
I would hate to tell my wife I need a service call for this car already.

Anyone else having issues with their USB C ports not working from the center console? My wireless charging pad is intermittent at best as well, but I know that's been an ubiquitous issue. Pretty frustrating having the car for about a week and already a couple issues, not to mention the cost of the vehicle.
We have an R1T, May 2023 delivery. While the charging pad isn't great, it isn't bad. I can charge my phone (iPhone 14 Pro) without issue. My wife has the iPhone 13 Pro Max and you have to reposition it to get it to charge.

We use a USB cable plugged inside he console and have never had an issue. Our daugther plugs in from the back seat and she hasn't had issues.

Update….Rivian replaced the charging pad and usb ports. All good now although the charging pad is finicky as we all know.

My usb c ports stopped working for data but charge my phone fine. Tried multiple drives and get the same error. Used to work fine. Confirmed the drive works on the PC. I'm going to try another reboot.
