Not true. My battery tender connection to 12V battery proves the the frequent wake ups are to charge the 12V battery. My vehicle has slept for 48 hrs plus. Without the BT, it wakes VERY FREQUENTLY. But each time it wakes, there is mysterious amount of MB sent to RivIan even if the vehicle hasn’t been driven for days.
Thanks, that is really interesting. So if it wakes up, it sends a bunch of data. But it doesn't wake up TO send the data.

This does still leave the question of what drains the 12V battery so fast when the car is "asleep" that it needs constant recharging.

That’s been my observation

Undersized, weak, defective batteries. There really needs to be a recall on this

The 12V batter(ies) power the approximately 1,000,000 computers in the 1st generation vehicles used for various functions in these software defined vehicles.

I have been unable to find a way to turn off the LTE cell tower connection. Not sure how often ET calls home.
There is no way to disable it via user available GUI.
You'd probably have to disable the actual hardware by disconnecting the LTE antenna and replacing it with a 50ohm dummy load. I read that's how Bolt owners stopped their cars from uploading data to OnStar.

Like others I have been following the VD threads for some time. I generally do not see information about the features owners have activated or deactivated on their Rivian’s just a percentage loss over a given period of time. I wonder if the features activated might be part of the problem. I installed 2024.31.01 recently. Over a 48 hour period (admittedly a very short period of time for testing purposes) I have had zero drain. My DM R1T has the following features active/deactivated:

Bluetooth on
WIFI off
Hotspot off
Camp Speaker removed (no charging)
Navigation on
Driver Assist off
Rivian Mobile App on
Alexa on
Data Analytics off
Camera Data off

I do not use iPhone Paak (only FOB) nor Connect +
I almost never use the Rivian App to check on the truck and it is parked in an enclosed garage which is heated.
It would be interesting to hear what others are doing and whether it might be contributing to their drain?
Are you still seeing zero drain? What VD drain did you experience prior to 2024.31.01? Where did you disable Data Analytics?

Data Analytics is found in the Systems window under Data and Privacy. I did not keep track of my drain previously, just a casual observation. After three days no drain but when I checked this evening it initially showed a 1% drop but quickly changed back to no loss.

Ironically, doing that in the Rivian might increase battery drain. When a phone radio can’t connect, it goes to maximum transmission power and keeps trying. That’s why a cell phone battery tends to run down faster when you have no coverage. It’s desperately trying to connect, lol.
