Starting about two weeks ago, I noticed my truck was no longer displaying active charging session info in the app, not sending notifications, and generally displaying the red icon and vehicle offline message more often. Unlocking from the phone was hit or miss (thankfully I have a fob as well)

After ignoring the issue for a while, I noticed the vehicle odometer mileage in the app was also stuck in the past, and I hadn't got the Halloween update yet. My wife's phone also showed the incorrect odometer.

Inside the vehicle, LTE and wifi both show connected.

Anyway, did a full hard reset of the truck...Then I initiated the download of the latest software from the vehicle.

While the software was downloading, I did start getting random notifications flushing out of the system from past few days, and the mileage in the app slowly ticked back up to what the odometer in the truck says. Once done with the update, app notifications are back to normal again. Only odd thing is the location says at home, but the map is showing 300 miles away where I was a couple weeks ago.

That and the app still thinks the vehicle has no Wi-Fi or cellular connection, even though I can get live cam to work outside of BT range, so it obviously does. I have completely deleted and reinstalled the app, but the issue persists, so it's gotta be a server side problem.

Truck has gone to sleep and I have driven it since, everything from inside the vehicle is normal.

Tragedy is with the app not seeing the vehicle connected, I can't play with any of the Halloween stuff since I don't have the get spooky tile 😡

Anyone else have this issue and know how to resolve it?

Sounds like a service request, web chat, or phone call to Rivian Service is your next step. They may be able to do some additional troubleshooting with data that gets collected from your vehicle.

Already called them today. Didn't have anything more to recommend than what I did, waiting on a call back.

I do have a service visit already scheduled in November, but was hoping to see what this Halloween mode was all about.

I would delete your phone as a key and unpair it from Bluetooth, then go through the process of adding your phone again.

That happens when you delete the app. You have to repair and do the key thing all over again. If you delete all app data for the app, you also have to do that.

IOW, been there done that.

Well, this morning I got an app notification that the truck has an update ready to download, except it's it's the same update I already downloaded and installed two days ago. But the "get spooky" tile finally showed up, yay! The kiddos will like that.

Have a service appointment coming up in Nov to replace my cracked windshield, turn signal recall, and it looks like they added the 12v battery bracket too. I'll ignore this issue for now and add it to the list.

I’m in the same boat. Tried so many things. The app shows last connected via cloud over 20 days ago. Reboots, re-auth don’t do anything.

As diranged noted, it could be the TCM. My truck thought it was 300 miles away from home for several weeks in 2023. The service center did the hard reset and it was worked since for 2+ years. I didn't have to have the TCM replaced.

@Weck,
It's been a long time since I've heard of this issue.. but it sounds pretty much identical to the "dead TCM" issue (see https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/lte-gps-wifi-are-offline-and-hard-reset-doesn’t-work.7886/#post-198026). I hope it's not that - but if it is, it is fixable .. it just takes rivian a bit of work.

Quick note... after mine got replaced back in 2022, it's been fine since then.. so once they fixed it, it was really fixed.
Mine is a gen 2, so curious if this same module even exists with the new architecture. I never had any issues with actual connectivity in the truck, just the app saying it wasn't.

Anyway, I drove it 150 miles round trip yesterday to do some mountain biking and as of now, the location is correct and the app recognizes the truck is connected again. So it seems to have worked itself out.

Only odd thing left is the truck wanting to update the software even though it's already updated to the latest version.

I have a service visit in a couple of weeks, I'll mention the issue and see what they say.
